Who we are
Humboldt Fence Company has been installing fences across Humboldt County since 2002. We're family-owned, led by owner Russ Renner, and run with a crew of 18 installers working out of our yard at 564 State Hwy 36 in Fortuna.
What we do
Every kind of fence the North Coast demands: redwood and cedar privacy, commercial chain link, ornamental iron, agricultural field fence and deer fence, slat-master privacy chain link, automatic driveway gates, and custom specialty builds.
We run two scopes of work. Residential installation across Humboldt and Del Norte counties, Redding, and south to Willits, full-service free estimates on homes, ranches, and small commercial. Public works fencing (bid-ready, prevailing-wage, and Skilled & Trained Workforce-eligible) across Trinity, Tehama, Butte, Lake, Sonoma, and San Mateo counties.
We also sell and build portable dog kennels, rent and sell temporary chain-link panels, and sell chain-link fence and gate parts over the counter at our Fortuna yard.
How we work
Estimates are free and on-site within our service area. We walk the property with you, measure what needs measuring, and send a written estimate that itemizes materials, labor, and any demo or haul-away. Pricing is fixed at the signed estimate, what you agree to is what you pay.
Scheduling works a week at a time. We hold planning meetings every Thursday to lay out the following week and the crew assignments. Once your job lands in a specific week, the office confirms the start date with you. Most residential installs finish in two to four working days; commercial and larger ag jobs take longer and we're upfront about that at the estimate.
Work we install carries a one-year workmanship warranty. If something goes wrong inside that year, we come back and fix it. After the one-year window we're still happy to handle any repair or addition you need.
